Episode Context

Coming off 'The Silver Choker,' where Toya confronts a significant decision tied to his past, this episode pivots inward to focus on Aya's emotional and relational struggles as the series crosses its midpoint. 'Relic of the Mikage' functions as a transitional chapter, consolidating character stakes rather than advancing plot, while laying essential groundwork for 'The Return of the First,' which will push ancestral and identity themes back to the forefront.
