Episode Context

Positioned exactly at the halfway mark of the 24-episode run, this episode arrives on the heels of 'Stir of Emotions' and escalates the pressure the Mikage family exerts over Toya and Aki, both of whom are reaching breaking points in their respective arcs. The choices made here carry direct consequences into the next episode, 'Relic of the Mikage,' making this a pivotal bridge between the series' buildup and its second-half turn.
