It's great that the story point out that the con of having a civilian in a military setting is how Aoba can be nonconforming. I'm disappointed that we haven't seen more of Dio and Aoba interacting more but at least they explore the consequences of that... for a bout a minute or two. The mecha fights seemed to be only selling points of this series so far.
