That moment Chad went absolute beast mode on Baura was everything to me because it feels like forever since he got to show off that monstrous strength properly

Sawatari and that giant whale thing are actually kind of a problem and Noba trying to trap it in another dimension was the only way they were getting out of that alive

Watching Ururu just casually kick a giant spirit whale into the ground was the most unexpected thing about this whole Bount situation so far

I thought the way Rangiku stayed so cheerful while taking charge of that whole fight was great and her chemistry with Noba was actually really cute

That old man and his giant whale doll are not interesting villains at all and it is painful watching the main characters struggle against such a forgettable enemy

Haineko is such an underrated zanpakuto and it was great to see Rangiku using the ash to trap the doll instead of just standing around

While the Bount arc can be a slog, seeing Rangiku act as a decoy to set up Sawatari showed she actually knows what she is doing in a fight and it makes the filler bearable for a bit

I know everyone says to skip the Bount arc, but the choreography in these recent episodes is actually surprisingly good. Chad looks like he stepped straight out of Baki during some of those close-up shots, and the teamwork between him and Rangiku was handled really well. Sawatari is a weird villain, but Baura is a legitimate threat that forced them to be creative

It is hard to take Rangiku seriously when they focus so much on the fanservice and this whole whale doll thing with Sawatari is just boring to watch

Using Noba to counter Baura and his space powers was actually a really smart strategy for a filler episode and the action felt very solid

Rangiku is carrying this entire arc on her back but these Mod Soul kids are still kind of annoying and the story needs to get back to the Soul Society plot

Noba teleporting Rangiku at the last second really surprised me and those brutal close up shots of Chad fighting were unlike anything else in this arc

The Bount arc is killing me and it feels like the story just stopped moving for these random fights with dolls that do not even matter in the long run

I am glad Rangiku is taking the lead for once and Haineko looks so cool when she actually gets to use it against that creepy old Bount guy

Baura looks like a whale and acts like a portal and watching Chad just manhandle him was the best part of the whole fight against that creepy old Sawatari guy

Sawatari getting outplayed by a bunch of kids and Rangiku was satisfying to watch and the way Noba stood his ground against the whale was impressive

Watching the group use actual strategy to win was refreshing, especially with Noba and Baura having such similar spatial powers that canceled each other out

It is honestly impressive how Rangiku managed to bait Sawatari while staying so casual about the whole thing and her chemistry with Noba was something I did not know I needed

Noba using his teleportation to save Rangiku was a great moment and I thought it was super cute how he got so shy after she thanked him for the save

Chad showing off that massive strength by swinging a whole whale through a wormhole was the highlight of the episode and it proves he is still a total beast even in filler

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep within the anime-original Bount arc, episode 86 shifts the battlefield away from the previous episode's emotionally charged Rukia-Orihime confrontation to a parallel skirmish, reinforcing how widespread the Bount threat has become. This broadening of the conflict serves as setup for episode 87, where Byakuya is summoned and the Gotei 13 begins mobilizing in force — signaling a major escalation in Soul Society's response to the Bount invasion.
