This episode provides a monumental shift by revealing Asta’s Black Form; pushed to his limits by Ladros, he taps into his subconscious and awakens his anti-magic energy. There is an immense show of character development from Asta, and the anime does justice to the battle scene. Asta’s refusal to let the darkness consume him teaches us a profound lesson: that sometimes growth requires acknowledging and embracing our darkest insecurities by not letting them determine who we are and turn them into our ultimate weapons.
