Big Order Episode 6: Order! Merge, Souls! Big Connect

Just when I thought this anime couldn't get more rushed, they do this. Plot pacing too fast? I can deal with that, but forcing character chemistry too fast? That's a big no for me. I can somewhat understand Iyo is sheltered and probably has unrealistic expectations, but this is literally the second time she spent some time with Eiji. Slightly unbearable.

The episode leans heavily into the supernatural side of Big Order, introducing concepts that go beyond simple battles between Order users. The idea of people becoming connected through their powers creates some interesting situations and raises the stakes for Eiji and those around him. While the episode can be confusing at times because of how quickly it introduces new information, it succeeds at making the world feel larger than before. The action scenes remain entertaining, but the real focus is the relationships between characters and how their fates become intertwined. The episode asks viewers to accept some bizarre developments, but if you are already on board with Big Order’s strange logic, it becomes a fairly enjoyable watch.

The plot speeds up into a full-scale military conflict as outside forces launch an assault on the Dazaifu headquarters. Visuals are a chaotic display of explosive dynamic animation, combining hand-drawn debris with heavy CGI explosions as helicopters and tanks crash into mystical energy barriers.

Specific Moment: The way the screen completely splits into monochromatic halves right before Eiji executes his tactical counter-command, creating a heavy visual punch.
