Synopsis
All her life, Marie Shaderan has been treated like a servant in her own home. Her parents burned through the family fortune and now pin all their hopes on marrying off her older sister Anastasia to someone wealthy. Marie gets the hand-me-downs, the chores, and the constant reminder that she's not the daughter worth investing in. Years of this have done exactly what you'd expect — she genuinely believes she doesn't deserve anything better. Then Count Kyros Granado shows up at a party that was supposed to be Marie's birthday celebration but is really just another stage for Anastasia to shine. Kyros, though, actually notices Marie. He's drawn to her honesty in a room full of performance. But because nothing can ever be simple, a misunderstanding sends a proposal to the wrong sister. This is a 12-episode TV series from LandQ studios, adapted from a josei light novel, and it leans hard into the slow-burn emotional payoff. The character work here is the real draw — watching Marie gradually learn she's allowed to want things for herself hits harder than you'd expect from the premise. The historical fantasy setting gives it a nice fairy tale quality without going full isekai. If you liked My Happy Marriage for the "neglected girl finds someone who actually cares" dynamic, or enjoyed the political family drama in Tearmoon Empire Story, this one's in that lane. It's quiet, romantic, and genuinely moving when it lands.

konami★★★★★AnimeThis is an underrated anime! What I had in mind watching this at first was 'My Happy Marriage'—the plot and characters were very similar, but in a different setting and the one this anime has an advantage was the humor. The character development for Marie was huge. Literally, from rags to riches, to low self-esteem to a strong confidence booster, this was slow-paced but the entire series didn't have any dull moments or filler. Overall, a must-watch if you do like romance and drama.
auisthajem★★★★★EP 12The finale is a masterclass in concluding a "Cinderella" story, perfectly blending drama, romance, and long-awaited justice. It’s an incredibly satisfying end to Marie’s journey, watching her transform from an outcast into a confident future Duchess. Worth to watch.
