Koyuki grinding a terrible job in order to purchase a guitar is peak hustle. The talented guitarist shopkeeper that didn't make it is a quiet gut punch... sad reality for most musicians. Also is this band anime pivoting into a criminal mystery now?

It's back to school and some of our members are moving forward to the next stage. I have to say, this is yet another slow paced paced episode and it almost feels like not much is happening. But the shopping segment was fun to watch!

They are finally back to that mundane "reality". The sound design brings back the oppressive silence of the school halls. The animation was okay, but the pacing captures the slow, boring day in the school. This was a back to reality ep that shows not everything is fast-paced.

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 14's exploration of personal tensions and band growing pains in 'Dream,' this episode pivots to Koyuki's civilian life, grounding the series before the band's trajectory escalates. Sitting at the season's midpoint, it functions as a deliberate bridge, developing friendships and internal stakes that will matter when Beck pushes into the indie music scene in the following episode, 'Indies.' The pause is structural, not incidental, setting emotional foundations for the second half's momentum.
