Instead of focusing entirely on the tournament, this episode spends time exploring the history behind Angelic Layer itself. It adds emotional context to earlier events while giving viewers a better understanding of important characters. The storytelling is thoughtful without feeling heavy, and the return to the ongoing match keeps the pacing balanced. It's one of the strongest character-driven episodes so far.
