This episode introduces another memorable rival whose calm personality contrasts nicely with Misaki's energy. The battle isn't the main highlight here—the conversations before and after it reveal much more about the characters than the match itself. The visuals are especially beautiful, giving the episode a gentle and elegant atmosphere. It leaves viewers looking forward to the next confrontation.

This episode revealed the origin of Angelic Layer and introduced the people who started it all. It also showed the backstory of some of the other characters. At least now, a lot of their actions make much more sense, and I have a better understanding of why they behave the way they do.
