READTHROUGH
The Cozy Croquette Welcome
The episode opens in a warm, traditional restaurant, where Tomoe Udagawa is savoring a bowl of tonkotsu, while Sayo Hikawa nods in agreement. Behind the counter, Tsugumi Hazawa, in her chef's uniform, works busily. Tomoe's delight is clear when Tsugumi presents a hot croquette as an appetizer. Enjoying the crispy treat, Tomoe then expresses a wish for something fresh, leading Sayo to suggest the restaurant's excellent bonito.
The Bonito Betrayal
Tsugumi springs into action, blowtorching and swiftly slicing a large piece of bonito with impressive culinary flair. Tomoe watches, anticipation building, believing a fresh fish dish is imminent. However, when Tsugumi serves the dish, it is another croquette. Tomoe's shock gives way to a frustrated cry, 'Why did it turn into a croquette?!' while Tsugumi remains unperturbed and Sayo smiles with quiet amusement.
The Sea Bream Challenge
Refusing to accept defeat, Tomoe retrieves a massive, fresh red sea bream from a cooler. She declares, 'Chef! I caught this sea bream today, make something with this!' The challenge is clear: a whole fish, surely, cannot be transformed into a croquette. Tsugumi accepts, her focused work with the giant fish hinting at a serious culinary endeavor. Yet, when the dish arrives on an elaborate boat platter, it is filled not with fish, but with an overwhelming number of identical croquettes, driving Tomoe to a comedic breaking point.
A Chibi Farewell
The episode concludes with a vibrant, fast-paced montage, shifting into a chibi art style. Characters like Kasumi Toyama, Yukina Minato, Ran Mitake, Kokoro Tsurumaki, and Aya Maruyama appear in playful scenarios and various themed settings. This cheerful, energetic sequence serves as a stark contrast to Tomoe's earlier frustration. The credits scroll, ending on a bright note with the series logo and a thank you to the viewers.
