Synopsis
Some grinning, yellow-tentacled creature blew up most of the Moon, and now he's teaching middle school. That's already the premise of Assassination Classroom, and this second season is where everything pays off. Class 3-E returns from summer break still trying to kill Koro-sensei — their teacher who moves at Mach 20, genuinely cares about their futures, and also happens to be a threat to destroy the entire planet by March. The 25-episode run picks up the assassination attempts, the school politics against the ruthless principal Gakuhou Asano, and digs way deeper into who Koro-sensei actually is and why he became what he is. The thing that makes this show work is that you're rooting for both sides. You want these kids to succeed at killing their teacher, but you also never want him to leave, because he's the best thing that ever happened to them. The comedy stays sharp — these are still teenagers fumbling through creative murder plots — but the emotional weight this season carries is genuinely surprising. Lerche's animation handles both the goofy moments and the serious action without missing a beat. If you liked the underdog class dynamics of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, the high-stakes tension of Danganronpa: The Animation, or the "weird teacher changes everything" energy of Great Teacher Onizuka, this lands in that same neighborhood. Just make sure you've watched season one first, because this season assumes you're already attached to these characters. And you will be.

honeyyy★★★☆☆AnimeSeason 2 Episode 2 of Assassination Classroom feels a bit slow at the beginning, but it gradually becomes more interesting as the episode progresses. The first half is quite laid-back, focusing more on lighthearted moments rather than intense action. It’s filled with humor, especially when Kaede Kayano suggested a random and playful idea that added a fun energy to the episode. Her idea is definitely unique but is quite smart. However, the second half is where things start to pick up. The tone shifts slightly, and the episode begins to build more tension. It feels less like a casual classroom moment and more like the story is moving forward again. This contrast can be quite confusing and some might like it but some might not because it feels a bit abrupt. Overall, while the episode may not be the most exciting from start to finish, it is still enjoyable. It serves as a light and fun episode while still keeping viewers engaged, especially through humor and funny character interactions.
