Aki-Sora: In a Dream
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Hiding a secret that would upend his entire family, high school guy Sora Aoi is in a hidden romantic relationship with his older sister Aki. Nobody knows. Not their twin sister Nami, not their classmates, nobody. Then Nami, completely oblivious, decides to play matchmaker and drags Sora into the school's Fashion Research Club to set him up with her friend Kana. It's the kind of well-meaning interference that complicates everything, especially when Nami herself is hiding feelings she hasn't fully admitted to anyone, including herself. The whole thing becomes a quiet pressure cooker of secrets layered on top of secrets. This is a 2-episode OVA from Hoods Entertainment, based on the manga, so it moves fast and stays tight: no padding, just the emotional knot at the center of it all. The art leans into that mature seinen style, keeping things visually grounded even when the subject matter gets thorny. If you watched Yosuga no Sora and wanted something similarly focused on forbidden sibling dynamics, or you're familiar with the emotional weight of Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru, this hits comparable notes. It's not trying to be comfortable viewing; it's a short, concentrated story about people trapped between what they feel and what they're supposed to feel. Go in knowing what it is, and it delivers exactly that.

gobta_goblin_154★★☆☆☆EP 1Nami hiding her own feelings while trying to set her brother up with a classmate could have been interesting but the show is too busy focusing on the Aki and Sora stuff to care
taka_onna_temptress_26★★★☆☆EP 1I don't see why people compare this to Yosuga no Sora because that one at least had some atmosphere, but this OVA just feels like it is checking boxes for explicit content. Sora being pushed toward Kana by Nami while he is already with Aki makes for some drama, but the animation is so clunky it totally ruins the mood for me
soul_society_slayer_471★★★☆☆EP 1Comparing this to the manga makes it obvious they cut out way too much detail and now it just feels like a collection of explicit scenes without any of the actual substance from the source material
venusaur★☆☆☆☆EP 1Watching Sora and Aki pretend to be a normal couple while being siblings is just uncomfortable and the lack of any actual plot beyond the shock value makes it hard to sit through
isa★★☆☆☆EP 1I really hated how cheap the animation looked during the rainy confession and the writing is so thin because it just feels like the show wants to get to the gross stuff without building any tension first
solgaleo★★☆☆☆EP 1I liked the flashback to the rain even if everything after that made me want to turn my screen off for a bit
kikwi_294★★☆☆☆EP 1Starting this for the art was a mistake, because things got extreme so quickly. The sibling dynamic between Aki and Sora is definitely a choice, and it is hard to tell if there is a story or if the show just wants to be provocative. Nami seems to have some issues too so the whole family is just a mess in this one.
epona_265★★☆☆☆EP 1you see in the title it says in a dream but the logic in this episode is already so messy that nothing about their mother or their feelings makes any sense
atticus_358★★★★☆EP 1seeing Sora in a cat girl outfit was pure chaos and there is no way Nami was just trying to help him find a girlfriend
daboruto★★☆☆☆EP 1Sora has a lot of problems and the way he talks about Aki in his head makes the whole plot seem hopeless
rei_ayanami★★☆☆☆EP 1the sisterly bond is way too explicit, and Aki helping him in the kitchen like it was totally normal felt so wrong.
rengoku_radiance★★★★☆EP 1I thought I clicked on the wrong show because that cooking scene with Sora and Aki went way further than I expected for a normal romance anime
uryu_ultimate★★★☆☆EP 1my brain is still trying to process if this has a real story or if it is just an excuse for the fanservice between siblings
vincent_valentine★★★☆☆EP 1why did Nami put him in a cat girl outfit though and then just leave him like that while he talks about his sister
soei_shadow_153★★☆☆☆EP 1that rainy day confession scene was actually kind of pretty but then the rest of the episode happens and it gets weird really fast
raphtalia_raccoon★★★★☆EP 1Sora is such a pushover that it makes the whole situation feel even more uncomfortable and I can see why people are debating if this is just a hentai because the scenes are so explicit but the way the twin sister Nami is acting behind the scenes adds a weird psychological layer that I did not expect to find here
midoriya_mighty★★★★☆EP 1The animation for these intimate scenes looks way better than most actual shows from 2009 and the detail in my opinion is very impressive
