Akane-banashi Episode 7: Karaku Cup

The Karaku Cup is kicking off, and the clear favorites to claim victory and the coveted prize are already emerging. Of course, Akane is among the favorites, but it’s clear it won’t be easy for her, as she faces a couple of competitors who will give it their all and fight until the very end. The question left hanging at the end of the episode is: Is Akane ready to win this Cup?

“Turnamen arc” dimulai. Akane juga mendapatkan rival-rival baru. Pacing episode ini juga bagus karena ini baru babak penyisihan, meskipun aku agak ingin melihat penampilan dari para rivalnya. Selain itu, penampilan Jugemu Akane juga sangat bagus, salut untuk pengisi suaranya.

The new voice actor girl was super annoying, she could have been somewhat charismatic if her two-faced character was to protect her image, but the whole negative opinion on Akane thing felt unnecessary for me. Although it was realistic in a way, like I could definitely see this dynamic happening irl.

Animation quality isn't quite there in this episode, more so during the first quarter when they're building up and introducing characters for the prelim. It gets better after and during the Jugemu performance, which was super fun to watch! I never expected the MC to go against her mentor's advice?? But it was cool to reinforce her individuality and strong character.

I honestly thought this episode would focus on building up Akane's opponents or peers during her Karaku Cup, but it was a pleasant surprise seeing the show jump straight into the competition's preliminary rounds. The pacing here was so satisfying in that aspect!
