A heartfelt episode that trades tennis action for powerful character moments. Hiromi's journey feels genuine, the atmosphere is heavy without being overwhelming, and the final introduction hints that an important new chapter is just beginning.

This episode slows things down in the best way, focusing on Hiromi as she faces a difficult moment after returning home. The quiet conversations, Todo's presence, and one meaningful keepsake make this an emotional, beautifully written chapter.

That was such a heartwarming episode. The mentor-student bond between them really shined through and you can tell how much they truly care about each other. Hope that everything works out.

Episode Context

Landing at the midpoint of the season, Episode 5 arrives directly after the emotionally turbulent 'Sorrow of New York,' giving the series room to slow down and process before escalating again. It functions as connective tissue, grounding Hiromi's emotional state through introspection before the season pivots toward 'Goodbye, Coach,' which signals a significant turning point with Coach Jin Munakata on the horizon.
