This episode balances intense tennis with subtle emotions exceptionally well. Hiromi continues to grow as both a player and a person. It's an engaging, memorable chapter that builds anticipation for what's next.

Hiromi's biggest international challenge yet is packed with exciting rallies and steady character growth. The match feels tense from start to finish, while the quiet moments between the cast add surprising emotional weight. A strong blend of sports action and heartfelt drama.

The plot direction feels pretty strange. The main character says they're heading one way but then the story skips ahead or changes course without explaining why. Definitely not my favorite kind of writing.

Episode Context

Arriving at episode 4 of 13, this episode follows directly from Hiromi's departure overseas without her coach, a bold, vulnerable position established in the prior episode. 'Sorrow of New York' deepens the emotional stakes of that solo journey, forcing Hiromi to confront what she's made of away from familiar support. It feeds directly into the next episode, 'A Diary That Was Left,' suggesting this stretch of the season is building a sustained arc of personal reckoning and growth during the New York tournament.
