This episode expands the story beyond Japan, introducing fresh rivals and a different atmosphere that keeps things interesting. The emotional undertones are handled well, while Hiromi's determination and growth make every match feel meaningful without overshadowing the drama.

i would say the story pace here is quiet quick. its okay i guess since the anime wouldnot be boring and compesate the graphic quality too.

Episode Context

Three episodes into a 13-episode season, this marks the first major test of Hiromi's independence after the foundational groundwork of the opening episodes established her drive and her bond with Munakata. By removing that guiding presence, the episode pivots the season's central question from 'can she be coached into greatness' to 'can she become great on her own terms.' What unfolds here shapes the emotional stakes for every international challenge that follows.
