Episode Context

Following the second episode's revelation of the Statue of Humanity's disappearance from Mrs. Huang's mansion, this episode redirects Yakumo and Pai's search back to Hong Kong, deepening the central mystery rather than resolving it. As the penultimate chapter of a four-episode OVA, 'Sacrifice' functions as the narrative pressure cooker, escalating tension and forcing character-defining choices that position the finale, 'Straying,' to deliver conclusions to threads built across the entire arc.
