This episode has really good music, but the story feels very different from before. There are some slightly inappropriate moments, and Haruto’s personality is getting weirder, almost like he is becoming a creep. Still, the comedy is there, and the anime no longer feels as dark as it did at the start.
The plot of this episode drags significantly, almost completely losing its narrative direction. The director's experimental approach to presenting a silent story about a blind girl backfires, making the pacing feel incredibly slow and emotionally flat. The overly minimalist character designs fail to spark any chemistry between Haruto and the Witch, making it difficult for the audience to invest in or care about the trauma being explored. In terms of visuals, while the bioluminescent color palette (deep blues and glowing oranges) is conceptually unique, the execution is often too dark and muddy. This makes the overall aesthetic exhausting to watch over a prolonged period. The soundtrack, which is dominated by long stretches of silence and hollow water echoes, fails to build any tension, leaving the atmosphere feeling incredibly monotonous.
This was one of the strangest episodes so far. At least the core plot and conflict are clear which focused on the darker side of being an idol. However, it feels quite inappropriate for younger audiences. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed with the direction of this episode.
