This episode feels different from the previous ones. Instead of Haruto helping the witch, it almost feels like the witch is the one helping him. She also hints at something important, which feels close to my earlier guess. Could Haruto have been sleeping all this time too? Watch and see what the witch says.
This episode's plot acts as a lore dump, shifting away from individual witches to focus on the overarching mechanics of Eve and the "18if" realm. Character designs for Eve are hauntingly beautiful, dressed in tattered whites that emphasize her tragic, trapped nature. Visuals are abstract and architectural, featuring endless floating doors and staircases. Specific Moment: Haruto looking down a bottomless spiral staircase, where the doors represent the minds of thousands of sleeping people.
At first, this anime is quite difficult to understand, but once you do, the writing is truly impressive. The way it highlights awareness about deaf people and performance spaces is both touching and thoughtful.
