This episode feels like an important turning point that connects the previous 10 episodes. It finally starts to reveal the truth behind Sleeping Beauty Syndrome. Who exactly is Eve, and why does someone want to kill her? This episode slowly begins to give us the answers.
Character designs become jagged and aggressive, with black thorns wrapping tightly around the environment and characters. Visuals are strictly monochrome, with the exception of stark, bright red blood splatters that create a massive psychological contrast. Specific Moment: The shadow of Haruto detaching itself from his feet and running away into the darkness, symbolizing his growing dissociation.
The pacing here feels quite slow, but it actually works nicely as a recap and a setup for the main story to kick in. It also seems like there is a potential interesting finale with all the witches coming together. Haha. I hope so.
