This episode is packed with Nen lore and principles. You’ll get lost watching casually. Hisoka’s scene gives your brain a break from all the Nen info. After that, it’s back to Nen class. If you don’t get Nen now, future episodes will be tough to follow.

A good episode that keeps building on Nen training while showing more pressure on Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck. The fights feel more intense and make their growth more satisfying to watch

This was a great episode. Hisoka still gives me the creeps, lol, but I love how Nen was introduced. It was handled in such an interesting way that it really makes you want to keep watching.

Episode Context

Hunter x Hunter shifts gears into full training mode as Gon and Killua confront the foundational system that will define every battle going forward. This is a world-building episode at its core, expect detailed explanation and demonstration rather than raw action. Wing takes center stage as instructor, breaking down Nen's mechanics with the kind of deliberate pacing that rewards patient viewers. The tension here isn't physical danger but intellectual stakes: understanding what Nen means and what failing to grasp it could cost. Zushi serves as a grounding presence, reinforcing how far Gon and Killua still need to go. Madhouse keeps the visual energy tight even during exposition-heavy sequences, making the learning process feel genuinely engaging rather than static. A critical knowledge-drop episode that the entire series builds on from here.
