[S04EP04 Review] A White Sky Asterism
What a creepy start to the episode! It's been a while since we've last seen Betelgeuse, a surprising treat. Not to mention the classic opening phrase from Regulus. As always, listening to him yap is both funny and confusing. Love them or hate them, we have to admit that way they speak is etched deep into your brain.
We finally get to see how the inside of the tower looks like, and it's HUGE. The feeling of witnessing and experiencing such a massive construct is similar to playing the Dark Souls and Elden Ring games made by FromSoftware. You can't help but take in all the emotions rushing through as you experience a nostalgic memory/moment in the past.
I like that for this episode's puzzle, we as viewers can actively participate based on what we've seen. Knowing Subaru, the puzzle was definitely linked to constellations, as is most things are in the series. My Wife was able to figure out the answer almost immediately because of how deep she's gotten with her astronomy hobby.
The shocker for me was the name reveal, "Rigel". Having read the IF stories, that name gave me even more questions than answers. That's why this series is beloved by many, it's always an interesting mystery one after the next, with no mental burning out too.
I can't wait to watch more while restraining myself from reading the source material, it's going be a long wait each week, but it's always worth it.
