Hiromu Arakawa's Returns!
The grand return of Hiromu Arakawa. Let’s be honest, twenty years after the release of the finale of Fullmetal Alchemist, filled in by the slow life of Silver Spoon – a work to which the author is partly connected, especially through her school upbringing – and The Heroic Legend of Arslan – based on the work of Yoshiki Tanaka and currently at its 23rd volume in Japan – she returns with a new shonen, which in many ways is very mature. Both those who follow the manga and those who follow the anime cannot fail to notice the fruits of these twenty years; the scenes are raw in certain aspects – always matured by the lessons derived from Arslan and FMA – and her comedic balance – always Silver Spoon and FMA – remains evident. She confirms her unmistakable style, and in particular, the women in Arakawa’s works are always strong and independent.
A noteworthy mention also goes to the Bones studio! They too have matured over the course of twenty years, and to be honest, when this new gem by the author was released, I hoped that the Bones studio would consider it for a new anime, and they did! OP and ED are a tribute to FMA!
