At this point, I've stopped assuming I understand anyone in this anime 😅 There always seems to be another layer hiding underneath what we've already seen, which keeps the characters from becoming predictable. The atmosphere also feels increasingly tense without abandoning the strange personality the series has had from the beginning. I was especially invested in how everyone handled the situation this time.

Okay, so we have Shito, who had his torso pierced with a chainsaw after the fight with Chika. Chika learns the truth about the contract they made with Watashimori and that Shito isn't really who he seemed at first. Then we meet another new character just a few episodes before the season ends... and in the end, Chika decides he's going to resolve things with the most mundane motivation of all, but the one that truly drives him. I don't know... it's an episode where we're waiting for them to decide to go looking for Shito, while they gradually reveal more lore. This episode is, in a way, transitional.

More of the lore of the setting through Shito's backstory. Chika's is shown to be more of the protagonist, considering he has the most intertwined relationship with Shito so the story sort of neglected Mitsuru as a bystander. However, the conflict to allow Chika to truly ruminate his relationship with Shito . I absolute adore how Chika is driven my money at the end, mostly because money signify his will to live. Thus, to Chika, his will to live matters more than wallowing from the secrets and lies.
