Around this point, the story shifted gears and the focus moved more toward Amagi Corp, which added a darker tone. The writing carried a lot of this and it mostly worked. The pacing was fast, maybe a bit too fast if you have not been paying close attention. The tone remained consistently dark. Not a great place to start, but it felt important if you were watching in order.
These bug players have been written so well that anyone would find them absolutely disgusting, both design-wise and character-wise. We also finally see Kouga doing something that makes his existence a little more acceptable. The homeless gang standing up for their brother Jin was really wholesome. Can't say much about this Haitani guy, though; he's an interesting one. Can't really tell if he's friend or foe, bro looks like he just exists for the drama.
Kouga is now build his own character and perfect hero suit by idolizing his favorite hero. It is also see here how Jin care for others.
