The Star Scout Duel Begins
The main duel arena hums with anticipation as Manjoume Jun prepares to face Gokaido Hozan. Vice-Principal Napoleon dramatically announces the 'Star Scout Duel,' a contest promising the victor a coveted spot in the Obelisk Blue dorm. Judai, Sho, and Asuka race in, just in time to witness the high stakes. Gokaido, a formidable junior high graduate, exudes a smug confidence, openly dismissing Manjoume as a 'Slifer Red dropout.' Manjoume, for his part, simply radiates focus.
Cronos's Ambition
Cronos de Medici, ever the pragmatist, explains the true machinations behind this duel to Judai and his friends. With the elusive Edo Phoenix refusing to attend classes, the academy needs a new face, a 'superstar' student. Cronos sees an opportunity to leverage the Manjoume Group's financial power and Manjoume's raw talent. He believes Manjoume could be that star, if he can prove himself worthy of the elite class, despite his current Slifer Red affiliation.
Gokaido's Textbook Strategy
The duel commences, and Gokaido swiftly lays down his strategy. He summons 'Captain Marauder,' using its ability to bolster his field with another warrior. Equip spell cards, like 'Hojyoku no Tsurugi,' enhance his monsters' power, creating a robust, defensive line. Gokaido's play is technically sound, a textbook example of elite dueling. Manjoume observes this display without a hint of surprise, his expression unreadable, as the audience applauds Gokaido's conventional mastery.
Manjoume's Machine Might
Manjoume begins his turn with decisive action. He brings out 'X-Head Cannon' and cycles through his deck using 'Graceful Charity.' The discarded 'Ojamagic' then summons his loyal, if goofy, Ojama Green, Yellow, and Black. With 'Ojama Get Ride!', he discards the Ojamas to quickly summon 'Y-Dragon Head' and 'Z-Metal Tank.' These three machines swiftly fuse into the formidable 'XYZ-Dragon Cannon,' which then obliterates Gokaido's entire field and lands a devastating direct attack.
Gilford's Return
Gokaido, however, is not easily deterred. A well-timed 'Pot of Greed' allows him to draw into his ace monster, 'Gilford the Legend.' He sacrifices his monsters to summon the powerful warrior, whose special ability re-equips every sword spell from his graveyard. 'Gilford's' attack power soars to 4000, dwarfing Manjoume's machine. With a single, brutal swing, Gilford destroys 'XYZ-Dragon Cannon,' inflicting significant damage and leaving Manjoume in a precarious position as the crowd gasps.
The Ojama's Fury
Unfazed by the loss of his powerful machine, Manjoume activates 'Ojamandala,' sacrificing life points to resurrect his beloved Ojama trio from the graveyard. He then unleashes 'Ojama Delta Hurricane!!,' a chaotic energy blast that sweeps Gokaido's entire field clear, including the mighty 'Gilford.' The Ojamas celebrate their triumph with mocking dances. Manjoume declares that even cards deemed 'trash' can achieve victory in the hands of a skilled duelist.
Ben Kai's Desperate Strike
Gokaido makes one final, desperate attempt to reclaim victory. He plays 'Premature Burial,' reviving 'Armed Samurai - Ben Kai' from his graveyard. Ben Kai's unique ability grants him an additional attack for each equipped card, so Gokaido quickly attaches 'Holy Sword Phoenix Blade' and 'Lightning Blade.' The samurai is poised to unleash a flurry of potentially game-ending attacks. Manjoume, however, remains composed, seemingly allowing Gokaido to believe he holds the advantage, all while preparing his own ultimate counter-strategy.
Mecha Ojama King's Debut
Manjoume initiates his final, brilliant maneuver. He activates 'Polymerization,' fusing his three Ojamas into the familiar 'Ojama King.' But he doesn't stop there; a new card, 'Mecha Ojama King,' transforms his goofy monarch into a massive, heavily armored mechanical beast with an imposing 3000 defense. Its ability then special summons 'Ojama Machine Yellow,' which, in turn, generates several machine tokens, completely filling his field. 'Ben Kai's' multiple attacks are easily blocked by this new, impenetrable defensive wall, shutting down Gokaido's offense completely.
Victory and Voice
With his field dominated by mechanical Ojamas, Manjoume launches his final assault, using their specialized abilities to deplete Gokaido's remaining life points. As he delivers the finishing blow, Manjoume passionately speaks of his time in Slifer Red, of the tenacity and hidden potential he discovered among his 'low-rank' dorm mates. Gokaido’s life points drop to zero, and Manjoume, striking his iconic pose, leads the roaring crowd in his 'Manjoume Thunder' chant. The Slifer Red students erupt in joyous celebration, a resounding victory for their dorm.
The Unexpected Refusal
In the aftermath, Vice-Principal Napoleon and Principal Cronos approach Manjoume, paperwork in hand, ready to formalize his promotion back to Obelisk Blue. To their astonishment, and that of the audience, Manjoume tears up the offer. He declares his intention to remain in Slifer Red, asserting that he has found a true sense of belonging there. He then reveals his plan to use his family’s immense resources to completely renovate the Slifer dorm, transforming it into a luxurious, high-tech facility. Judai and Sho cheer their friend’s decision, while Cronos is left utterly speechless.
The True Ace
In a brief post-credit segment, Judai highlights 'Mecha Ojama King' as the featured card of the episode. He emphasizes its impressive 3000 defense points and token-generating ability. Judai explains how this unconventional card was central to Manjoume's victory, proving that even the most unexpected monsters can be incredibly powerful. The episode closes with a cheerful animation of Winged Kuriboh, leaving the audience with a lighthearted but resonant message about embracing unique strengths.
