On a bright school day, the energetic PE teacher, Mai Maimai, introduces Hiyori Hiwamura to her students for a fitness test. Akihito Abikura watches, knowing his teacher's public reputation for being 'scary' contradicts her true, fragile nature. Hiyori struggles through every event, her face flushing with effort during the grip test, scoring a mere 10kg, and managing only four weak hops. She throws a handball a negative one meter, then collapses after a three-minute 50m dash, gasping for air. Akihito rushes to her side, his concern clear.

For the standing long jump, Mai sensei pairs Hiyori with Mizuki Mukubayashi, a confident, athletic student. Mizuki performs an incredible five-meter leap, landing gracefully to the cheers of the class. Hiyori watches, a mix of awe and despair on her face. When it is her turn, she attempts to mimic Mizuki's powerful movement but faceplants directly into the sand pit, achieving a pathetic ten-centimeter jump. Akihito, again, is there immediately to help her up, sighing at her consistent lack of physical prowess.

Akihito follows Hiyori to the infirmary, where the school nurse, Momoko Mizunuma, known as Momo-pi, examines the exhausted teacher. Momo-pi offers Hiyori some blunt, unconventional medical advice, suggesting she loosen her bra for easier breathing. Hiyori blushes fiercely, while Akihito turns away, his face also reddening. Despite the day's physical humiliations, Hiyori expresses genuine happiness to Akihito, believing these shared struggles help her understand her students better. She drifts off to sleep, a peaceful smile on her face.

Later, in the school hallway, two students gossip about Hiyori's 'scary' reputation, fueled by rumors of occult practices. Mizuki Mukubayashi overhears them, her expression turning serious. She begins to believe Hiyori's fragile exterior hides a dangerous person. Mizuki decides she must investigate Hiyori after school, suspecting that Akihito is under a spell. With newfound determination, Mizuki prepares to protect the school from any dark influences, her imagination running wild with possibilities.

After school, Mizuki secretly follows Hiyori and Akihito to an empty classroom, hiding in the dimly lit hallway. She peeks through the door's glass window and sees Hiyori leaning over a desk with a needle, while Akihito holds a small object. In Mizuki's biased, low-light perception, this simple act of sewing transforms into a dark ritual. Her imagination conjures an image of Hiyori in tattered robes, performing a demonic invocation with purple mist and glowing magic circles. Convinced of an impending school-wide disaster, Mizuki prepares to intervene.

Driven by a desperate urgency, Mizuki delivers a powerful punch, not to the door, but to the concrete wall beside it. The wall shatters, creating a large hole as dust and debris fill the air. She charges through the opening, shouting about saving the school. Inside, Hiyori and Akihito are frozen in terror. Mizuki then sees Hiyori with a needle and thread, and Akihito holding a torn plush toy. The mundane reality of a sewing repair clashes violently with Mizuki's destructive entry, her face paling in embarrassment.

Akihito frantically tries to explain they were only fixing a student's plushie, gesturing to the massive hole in the wall. Hiyori, still trembling, stares in shock. The stress becomes too much for Hiyori, and she collapses, hallucinating the hole as a portal. Both Akihito and Mizuki rush to her side. The misunderstanding, however, unexpectedly forges a new bond. Subsequent snapshots show Mizuki helping Hiyori, her previous suspicion replaced by a boisterous loyalty, and the three of them smiling together. Mizuki has even given Hiyori the affectionate nickname 'Hiyorin'.

Mizuki, now firmly in Hiyori's corner, decides Hiyori needs to improve her voice projection. She suggests shouting practice, much to Akihito's dismay. Mizuki demonstrates by shouting, 'Akihito is an idiot!' from the classroom window, startling the entire school courtyard. Hiyori's attempt, however, is a tiny, high-pitched squeak. Mizuki, determined, physically adjusts Hiyori's posture, wrapping her arms around Hiyori's waist to engage her core. Hiyori, extremely ticklish, squirms frantically, her small cries growing louder.

The physical adjustments escalate, and Mizuki's strong grip combined with Hiyori's squirming results in a loud tearing sound. Hiyori's tight-fitting skirt rips completely open, exposing her undergarments. All three freeze in shock, their faces coloring deeply. Hiyori is on the verge of tears from acute embarrassment. Panicking, Akihito begins to remove his own school pants to cover her modesty. Mizuki screams at him, calling him a pervert. The vocal training session ends in absolute chaos, with Hiyori curled in shame, Mizuki still ranting, and Akihito half-naked.

Later that evening, Akihito is home, attempting to study, but thoughts of the chaotic day and Hiyori distract him. His older sister, Akemi, 29 years old, bursts into his room. Akemi is overly doting, treating Akihito like a small child and offering him snacks. Akihito tries to push her away, embarrassed by her relentless attention. He reflects on how his home life can be just as tiring as school, with his sister's intense affection a constant challenge to his personal boundaries. He pushes her out, closing the door only to hear voices again from next door.

Next door, Hiyori is relaxing in a warm shower, appreciating Akihito's support and feeling content in her new home. A knock at her door reveals Akemi, who introduces herself as the neighbor. Upon seeing Hiyori's exhausted state, Akemi immediately begins to mother her. Hiyori, still in her bathrobe and visibly fragile, is overwhelmed by Akemi's powerful doting energy. Akemi declares Hiyori too weak to live alone and immediately takes her under her wing. Akihito, investigating the noise, finds Akemi already inside Hiyori's apartment. The realization that they are neighbors hits both Akihito and Hiyori simultaneously, their faces reflecting mutual shock.

The three sit in an awkward circle on the floor. Akihito is mortified, and Hiyori is deeply embarrassed, her face a constant shade of red. Akemi, oblivious to their school connection, fusses over Hiyori, calling her 'cute' and 'fragile'. Feeling like an imposition, Hiyori desperately offers to move out immediately, beginning to panic. Akemi firmly refuses, declaring she will provide Hiyori with meals and help with chores, essentially adopting her as a second sibling. Hiyori is eventually won over by Akemi's genuine warmth and concern, her panicked expression softening into a grateful smile. The evening ends with them sharing a meal, forming a strange but caring new household group.
