This was an incredible episode. We finally got to see Makishima and Toudou race and honestly, the end of it, whoever would have won, because there's always a winner, the ending would always be bittersweet because they're both third years. However, I completely loved this episode. The pacing, the flashbacks from both of their perspectives towards each other. The entire sequence was so wholesome and so thrilling to watch. I was so invested, which is an amazing thing for anime to pull me into it even more than I already am!
Makishima's character development has been one of my favorite parts of this series. There is so much emotion behind every competition, and this episode shows that perfectly. I like how the rivalry isn't just about being stronger, but also about respect and personal pride. Really memorable episode.
This episode is the reason why we can't be so confident. It's so fun watching them have fun in the race. This is what rivalry and competition should look like. The match between the climbers is intense.
