that daisy letter moment was surprisingly sweet and the pacing of the first encounter felt just right for the start of the series

the writing for the secret lover mystery is actually keeping me interested even though we all know why we are really watching this one

I did not expect the investigation to start so fast, and the tension when they first met up again really got to me

the locker flashback felt so nostalgic and the art style for the reunion scene was clean

the way he just decided to sleep with all three girls to find the one who left the daisies is wild and the chemistry was actually there
rach_m's avatar
rach_m
The ending shot of the letter raises some questions about a fourth girl and the animation for the first encounter was really fluid throughout the whole scene

fubuki_blizzard_119
Three suspects seems like a lot to get through if they keep this pace and the main guy is a bit too blank but the art is decent enough to keep watching

The lighting in the hotel room scene was actually pretty well done, and it made the whole reunion feel a lot more intimate than I expected from the premise alone
grey_ghost_143's avatar
grey_ghost_143
The voice acting for the first girl he suspects was really good and the way she reacted to the daisies mention made me think it has to be her
yoruichi_yukiko's avatar

The flashback to the locker and the love letter was actually kind of sweet and it makes the modern day hookup feel more earned than the usual random stuff in this genre

That opening sequence at the bar dragged on way too long and there was way too much awkward small talk before they actually got to the point of the reunion
unohanas_unbeaten's avatar
unohanas_unbeaten
The logic behind testing every girl to find the secret lover is pretty thin and the first girl was okay but the art felt a bit stiff during the scenes in the room
gladion_352's avatar
gladion_352
I thought it was wild how the main guy decides he has to sleep with everyone because of a letter and some flowers and the girls seem so down for it
judeau_the_knife_191's avatar
judeau_the_knife_191
Seeing those daisies again in the flashback really sets a nostalgic tone for what is basically just a smut show and the character designs are surprisingly clean
sapphire_321's avatar
sapphire_321
I think the concept of using a childhood mystery as an excuse for the plot is actually kind of charming in a trashy way, and I really liked the short-haired girl the most out of the three options so far. The animation quality stayed pretty consistent during the main scene, which helped keep the focus on that first girl and the guy in the bedroom

You would think a normal person would just ask who wrote the letter but he chooses the most complicated and messy path possible and the situation is already a disaster
king_engine_120's avatar

Watching the main guy treat his old school friends like suspects in a case was a bit weird but that flashback to the daisies in the locker really caught my attention

The art style on the girls is actually really good for this type of show and it makes the whole reunion vibe feel way more nostalgic than it should be

That letter in the locker was actually kind of sweet but then the main character turned it into the weirdest investigation ever and you can not stop laughing at his logic

I forgot how ridiculous some of these setups are and this guy really thinks the best way to find a secret crush is to just sleep with every single friend from the group

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is Episode 1 of 4, meaning it carries the full weight of introducing the characters, their history, and the central romantic-erotic premise. Nothing precedes it, so all groundwork is laid here. The remaining three episodes will build directly on whatever emotional and physical dynamic is established in this opener, making this the essential entry point for the series.
