The intro immediately pops off with a captivating action sequence and some comedy on the side~ We get a better feel of the world outside of Sakura’s bubble as he adjusts to his role as a Furin student. The lore and worldbuilding in this episode are pretty solid!

Is this a school or some random street gangs? In this case both apparently. He's right, Sakura is very loud and speaks way too fast Lol. It's nice that they stood up for the other student but that just invites more trouble, but good for introducing another faction leader.

episode 3 introduces Furin’s leader Umemiya and deepens Sakura’s place within the crew. After a heated clash with Sugishita, the team learns hierarchy and camaraderie, blending action with comedy and character warmth.

Main antagonist Shishitoren knows how to make an entrance. Right away, they're shown as threatening and the complete opposite of Bofurin, which does well to set the tone for the next episodes.

Episode 3 introduces real leadership vibes. You see how organized Bofurin actually is. It’s not random street fights. There’s structure, pride, and rules. Sakura still wants to fight everyone, but now he’s standing next to people who actually think before they punch.

What cliffhanger, an episode where it has fun and comedy. And we also get to see some new characters in the show. A wholesome and a cliffhanger episode overall.

The different personalities of the characters really mix well with each other, it was quite interesting. The pacing for this episode was also steady and really gives an introduction of the other characters. Still dynamic and unique.

A bit of a breather episode to meet the upperclassmen. The rooftop garden vibe with Umemiya was a total curveball, but it adds such a cool layer to his character. The Bofurin uniform details are great.

This episode was brutal, great animation and you can really feel the emotions and depth within each character based on their reactions to what happened. Overall a good episode and a very important plot.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 2's foundation — where Sakura began absorbing Furin High's values — Episode 3 escalates by pulling back the curtain on the school's leadership hierarchy and the enigmatic Umemiya. It's a critical bridge episode, deepening the world-building before Episode 4's anticipated 'Clash' arc kicks off with direct rivalries and higher-stakes confrontations. At episode 3 of 13, the show is locking in its core cast and power dynamics early.
