Thorkell's introduction is enormous in every sense. A Dane fighting for England purely because he wants worthy opponents is gloriously absurd and completely believable. Thorfinn attacking him anyway is reckless and very him.

Further into battle, Thorfinn faces his fellow dane Thorkell in this action packed episode. Good use of history again to draw the viewer into the storyline. Good hand to hand combat scenes between the two. Looking forward to the next one.

This episode shows how fearless Thorfinn is, he went into the fight in full confidence against much stronger & formidable enemy Thorkell and in the end gaining respect from him. Thorkell has a lore with Thors so I can't want for their round 2.

This episode delivers intense action with grounded, cinematic scene. Watching Thorfinn fight with great disadvantage but never backing down is insane. Askeladd once again stands out as a great manipulator, carefully using Thorfinn to do his fights.

The fighting scenes in this episode is amazing! Thorfinn not knowing who is he facing off showed his advantage in the clash despite his shortcomings. On the other hand, Thorkell is one likeable man reminding me of of Kizaru + Whitebeard. Hoping more interactions between the two.

Tense and calculated, the episode frames conflict as chess. Dialogue sharpens motives while positioning and timing dictate outcomes. Strategy eclipses spectacle, and every gain carries quiet moral weight.

Episode 9 portrays the brutal assault on London Bridge with grounded intensity and sharp strategy. Thorfinn’s clash with Thorkell reveals his growing strength and reckless resolve, while quiet character moments deepen the emotional weight behind the battle.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving at the season's midpoint, episode 9 escalates the conflict significantly after Askeladd's band returned from raiding Frankish territory in the preceding episodes. The Battle of London Bridge formally introduces the large-scale Danish campaign for England and puts Thorkell directly in the path of our central characters, fundamentally raising the stakes. This episode sets the stage for 'Ragnarok' and the strategic fracturing that follows, pushing the season into its increasingly complex second half.
