The way this episode ended, I already know the next episode will be filled with action, main plot issues and etc! A very very good build up for episode 9!

It's fun seeing the different students approach the same test with different levels of confidence. Alto's friend Marcus create a lot of funny scenes. The examiner has a nice personality

Episode Context

Episode 9 shifts gears into a lighter, more grounded tone as Vermeil in Gold pulls back from higher-stakes drama to focus on the academic side of Ortigia Academy. Expect a practical exam scenario where Alto and his classmates must demonstrate their magical fundamentals, specifically channeling mana into flame. The episode leans into slice-of-life territory with steady pacing, character interactions, and humor woven between moments of genuine effort and self-discovery. Vermeil remains a supportive presence, though the spotlight broadens to include the wider student cast and their individual struggles with the test. Themes of perseverance and understanding one's own limitations take center stage. It's a breather episode that prioritizes character depth and magical world-building over action, giving the ensemble room to grow before the season's final stretch.
