Cliffhanger episode! A lot has happened and not a single issue has been finished. Probably it's the point of the whole plot I guess? Also Vermeil is really adorable. She may look mature but the way I see it, she's like an innocent woman!

Alto's reactions are still comedy gold because this guy has absolutely no idea how to handle Vermeil. Obsidian just casually throw out a funny statement out of the blue.

Episode Context

Episode 4 shifts into higher gear with a duel that's been building since last week, delivering the kind of strategic magical combat that gives Alto a chance to prove he's more than just Vermeil's summoner. The action sequences carry real weight here, with stakes that matter for Alto's standing at the academy. Between the flashier moments, the episode slows down to explore the deepening connection between Alto and Vermeil, blending the show's signature ecchi energy with genuine emotional beats. Professor Obsidian looms as a figure of intrigue, adding an undercurrent of tension beneath the surface. The title, 'A Creeping Madness', isn't just decoration; something darker simmers in the background. Pacing stays tight, balancing spectacle and character work without letting either dominate. A solid early-season pivot point.
