This episode is where the series officially stops playing around. It delivers the first major, devastating casualty of the series, shattering the illusion that the student state of New JIOR is safe. It’s a beautifully tragic turning point, that shifts the tone of the series from eccentric scifi to a grim war story.

A much-needed breather that focuses on Haruto and Shoko. Being trapped under the debris forced some real talk between them. It’s a bit slower than the usual space battles, but it adds some much-needed weight to their relationship before things get crazier.

The atmosphere stays tense, with strong emotional moments and dramatic visuals that land well. It feels heavy and intense from start to finish, while the pacing keeps the pressure on and gives the character struggles enough time to hit.
