This feels like a transition episode but with a dark turn. The emotions in this episode were intense, I didn't know Makoto has another side. The shift in tone feels rather abrupt given how light the story is in the past episodes. The final episode feels intense after watching this one.

Episode Context

Coming off the Forest Ogre Village encounters in Episode 10, this penultimate episode serves as the emotional and narrative fulcrum of the entire season, testing the unity Makoto has built with Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki. The tonal shift to darker, more consequential storytelling raises the stakes dramatically heading into the finale. It directly sets the stage for Episode 12, 'Guided by the Moon...,' where the fallout from these events drives the season's conclusion.
