Episode Context

This episode continues the Puffer Whale capture mission that kicked off when Toriko and Komatsu recruited the enigmatic Coco in Episode 4, pushing the group deeper into increasingly dangerous territory. It represents an early milestone for the series, establishing the pattern of escalating combat encounters tied to gourmet ingredient hunts that will define much of the show's 147-episode run. The cave arc continues directly into Episode 6, meaning this chapter functions as a critical mid-arc action beat rather than a standalone outing.
