Ooh, this was such an interesting episode. I really loved how the story progressed so far, and it ended on a good cliffhanger. Coco's such an interesting character, and his chemistry with Komatsu and Toriko felt so natural and wholesome. (?) Lol.

Coco's such an interesting character. It's the ikemen of the Four Heavenly Kings, lol. I really liked this episode—the story is getting MORE interesting. That cliffhanger really left me wanting more!

I really liked this episode. Coco really added some spice and interest to the story so far. I've been waiting for his appearance, lol. Anyway, the animation is looking good, and the pacing was steady. That ending really added more thrill.

The episode shifts focus to the chef side of the world and reminds you that cooking the ingredients is just as important as fighting the monsters.

A fun episode! We get the introduction of Coco, and his power is honestly dangerous, but Komatsu’s kind heart breaks all prejudice. I also love how their moves are named after food—such a nice touch that fits the world perfectly. On a funny note, Toriko—it’s not Zombie-kun!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the Rainbow Fruit hunt in Episode 3, this episode kicks off the Puffer Whale Arc and introduces Coco, significantly expanding the Four Heavenly Kings roster early in the series. It establishes a more complex team dynamic and a multi-episode quest structure, with the cave expedition continuing directly into Episode 5. At just episode 4 of 147, the show is still in world-building mode, laying the foundation for the broader gourmet universe.
