The episode succeeds because nobody really “wins.” Every character leaves emotionally hurt in some way, which makes the drama feel real instead of melodramatic. T_T

The bear costume scene could’ve been cheesy, but the writing makes it heartbreaking instead. Taiga realizing too late that Ryuuji is the person she wants feels painfully natural.

This episode is honestly one of the emotional peaks of Toradora because almost every character is forced to confront what they truly want.

Taiga and Ami’s performance is really amazing. Takasu being hands-on with the food and drinks is so “him.” This episode shows the characters slowly starting to understand their feelings. One of the strongest episodes. The characters finally acting on their genuine feelings.

The love triangle between Ryuji, Taiga, and Kushieda was so complicated and fragile. Everyone's being considerate at each other leaving Ryuji really conflicted on what to do. And the fact that this is not all of the conflict makes me feel worried on what can still happen next.

The showing of raw emotion through the episode is throuh the roof. The soundtrack hits again for gut wrenching developments and a sign of great changes. The emotional rollercoaster of a heartwarming scene from Ryuji to the heartbreaking cry from Taiga makes this a must watch.

Even though I still really enjoyed this episode, it was a big blow for me. It made me laugh but at the same time it was very touching. The inevitability.

The big Christmas celebration finally arrives, bringing music, decorations, and heartfelt moments. As the night unfolds, several characters face important feelings they’ve been holding back.
