This episode is quite sad as his girlfriend dies early on. He gains the ability to return to the past. At first, he could’ve avoided an incident that injured him and his friends but still gets beaten up. Then, he starts using his brain to fix things step by step to save her.

Takemichi’s “sorry-for-everything” life hits rock bottom, this episode yanks him 12 years back with a gut-punch motive: Hinata. The time-leap isn’t flashy; it’s desperate, messy, and personal. A clean hook that turns regret into a mission.

A good introduction to our timid main character, Takemichi. This episode give the viewer a good hook on the mystery surrounding the plot, with an added time shenanigans twist to it. The animation is okay, but not standout.

This is the first episode and I'm already on my toes. The opening was a bit confusing at first i couldn't quite understand it but then it fell into place. And oh my Akkun is so hot. Unnerving and soft on eyes.

OKAY BUT SERIOUSLY — YOU THINK TIME TRAVEL WOULD BE COOL? NOPE. GET READY TO CRY, PANIC, AND SCREAM BECAUSE THIS GUY JUST GOT THROWN BACK INTO HIS WORST DAYS AND WE’RE ALL VIBRATING.

A raw opener that hooks instantly. The time-leap premise lands hard and the emotional weight feels real. Stakes are personal, not flashy. It’s messy but gripping, setting up a revenge-driven narrative that feels tragic yet addictive.

BOOM!!! This was a great first episode because it left me wanting more with its Gripping reality. It is the unexpected people who made unforgettable mistakes in the past that you have to watch out for because they might surprise you. You are in control of your own destiny.

The animation is really amazing, but the pacing of the story is moving abit too quick. it was to my surprise that he went back in time. Honestly. It was a good episode, but it isn't all that interesting.

Our boy Takemichi is a 26-year-old loser who gets pushed in front of "TOMAS", but instead of the afterlife, he wakes up in middle school. He realizes a simple handshake with Naoto is the "trigger" to jump through time. He’s got a second chance to save his girl, Must Watch!

The visuals of the show isn't anything special. It's actually a little weird to think the characters in the show are only young teens around 13-15 yrs old. The pace is fairly fast enough where you wouldn't get bored but I wouldn't say it's anything that would blow your mind.

This episode really hits hard with emotion and nostalgia. Takemichi's feelings was lost, regretful and desperate to fix the past. The lighting and sound design heighten the drama while the sudden time leap is both shocking.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the first episode of a 24-episode season, 'Reborn' exists purely to lay the groundwork — establishing Takemichi's character, his deepest regrets, and the core mechanism that will drive everything forward. No prior context needed; this is the entry point. It leads directly into episode 2, 'Resist,' where Takemichi begins actively confronting the consequences of his new situation and the challenges of rewriting what went wrong.
