Synopsis
At 13 years old, Mirai Onozawa is fed up with her family, her summer, and pretty much everything. She's dragged to a robot exhibition in Odaiba with her annoyingly cheerful little brother Yuuki, and in a moment of genuine frustration, she wishes the whole world would just fall apart. Then a magnitude 8.0 earthquake hits Tokyo, and it does. That's the setup for this 11-episode TV series from Bones and Kinema Citrus, and it only gets heavier from there. Mirai and Yuuki team up with Mari, a motorcycle courier they meet in the aftermath, and the three of them try to walk home through a city that barely exists anymore. The show is based on actual disaster research, what would really happen if an 8.0 hit Tokyo, and that grounding makes everything hit harder. Buildings collapse in ways that feel uncomfortably plausible. People react like real people, not anime characters. The emotional core is the relationship between the siblings, and watching Mirai go from resentful teenager to someone who genuinely cares is the kind of slow character work that sticks with you long after the credits roll. If you connected with the emotional gut punches in A Silent Voice or the tension in Erased, this is in that same lane. It's also got that raw, grounded tone similar to Terror in Resonance. Fair warning, the last few episodes will wreck you. Just let it happen.

Never cried this hard over an anime in a long time TOT. This episode completely broke me and had me emotional from start to finish. 1000/10
The whole episode I was just thinking, "Please let them be okay" . Then halfway through it suddenly hit me what was actually going on and I just sat there like... OH MY GOD. The clues were there the whole time too..
Honestly, Mirai has grown so much throughout this series. Seeing how different she is now compared to the beginning has been really nice. This episode had me holding my breath the whole time. Had me stressed from start to finish.
Bruh that scared me, good thing it was just a dream, that is such a relief. This episode is so heavy.
I can totally see Yuuki growing up and making robots to help people during disasters after this. This episode actually made me cry, especially learning more about why Kento loves robots so much.
Mari looks absolutely exhausted, I really hope she doesn't end up getting sick after everything she's been through. I'm also lowkey stressed about whether her family and home are okay... it'd be heartbreaking if they weren't :/
This episode is a bit more lighthearted. I'm glad Yuuki and her sis made up, it's sad what happened to the grandma, this episode made me so emotional
Beggars really can't be choosers, and that look of pure happiness after finally getting to use a proper toilet was way too relatable lol. The series of unfortunate events happening to Mirai just let her BREATHE
Mari is seriously so kind and patient. I don't know how she's keeping it together in a situation like this. Meanwhile Mirai is definitely not making things easy lol
Bruh, Mirai is being way too reckless, if Mari wasn't there, I don't even want to think about what would've happened.
Those little robots feel like they're going to be important later somehow . Also, that lady was so nice for letting them keep the gift, that was such a sweet moment.
This last episode was touching, the ending was perfect even though it was sad.

Este último episodio realmente quiebra el alma, ya que nos lleva al reencuentro de Mirai con sus padres y a la dolorosa despedida de Yuuki. Además, a Mirai le llega un regalo inesperado que le da fuerzas para seguir adelante. Este anime da una lección de vida y de valor familiar.
Este episodio es un golpe directo al alma, al acercarnos al hogar de Mirai y Yuuki, lo que todo se transforma en un ambiente más melancólico. Mientras Mirai trata de encontrar a sus padres, Yuuki actuá de forma errática, tratando de revelarle algo.
