This hit hard on Gugu showing how self-doubt and self-pity can shape a person's choices. This reminds you that past decisions doesn't promise a better future. Sometimes, it's the people around you and a bit of luck that will make a difference. So here comes Fushi, to the rescue!

I can't believe that old man experimented that kind of thing on Gugu just because he's so crazy about his work. It's funny how Fushi kept messing up every single task Gugu would regularly do around the house. I can't believe Gugu's older brother showed up in this episode.

Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of a 20-episode season, 'Monster Brothers' deepens the groundwork laid in Episode 7's exploration of Gugu's backstory and his growing connection to Fushi. This episode functions as the emotional core of the Gugu arc, solidifying relationships and thematic stakes before the narrative pivots toward 'Deep Memories' and the heavier revelations that follow. It's a crucial bridge between setup and payoff, skip it and the back half of this arc loses its weight.
