'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Season 2 Episode 1: Episode 1

Season 2 starting hits different! The amnesia reset was genius — felt fresh yet nostalgic. That random basketball parody had me losing it, Ex joining the toast chant? Peak character growth. Animation's cleaner too. This show is pure comfort food. Welcome back, princess!

I absolutely love the relationship between the princess and the other characters! This anime is an absolute fresh air, it's so refreshing to see all the characters are actually really nice and all of them have their own charming traits! One of my favorite characters has to be Ex, it's hilarious seeing him hyping up the princess and how she wouldn't surrender to such "torture" only for her to immediately fail. However by now, Ex had completely given up on the princess which is so funny! I really like that he joined in the toast chants this time as he didn't last time, it's such a development for him, not to mention the voice actor did such a great job at giving Ex so much personality despite just being a sword and having no expressions and movements.

Princess got amnesia and we're back to square one but make it meta. The Slam Dunk basketball parody came out of nowhere and I was NOT ready. Season 2 already showing off with a glow-up in animation quality too. Welcome back!!

So this series started right where S1 left off and even included the same first torture used in S1 via the crispy buttery toast which was used to jog Hime's memory (good thing I ate prior to watching this haha). This episode also featured a basketball game which was good.

This is still funny as it is. Interesting plot and just a feel-good anime, where it was silly, and you just laugh at how ridiculous it was. Cute characters, too!

Good return to form. The comedy premise still works and the new season doesn't miss a beat picking back up.

Really fun start to season 2. The comedy lands well and it's great to have this show back.

SEASON 2 IS ALREADY GOING SO HARD. THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THESE TWO IS EVERYTHING. I MISSED THEM SO MUCH.

The perfect reintroduction. If you loved season 1's format, you'll feel right at home immediately The Princess holds out, the Torture is absurd, and the comedy lands rather humoursly.

A great opening episode for another run of this silly comfort anime. First half is them telling "look guys, it's the 2nd season" from reusing scenes and gags from season 1's 1st episode to literally celebrating 2nd season.

The 'tortures' are still there, but with clever spins.
