The chaotic night sea action looked great in this episode. The sound design with the cannons and crashing waves made every clash feel huge, and Izumi moving effortlessly across vessel decks was a highlight to watch.

Continuing from the escalating high stakes of the previous episode, this one delivers enthralling tension that effectively builds exciting momentum within a treacherous setting. Furthermore, as usual, despite the slow pacing, the established buildup of the narrative is tthoroughly well redeemed.

An episode that hooks you from beginning to end. While we've moved away somewhat from the martial arts theme, we now see the stratagems of war: how to defeat an opponent even when all the variables are against you. Izumi and Sakamoto will have to overcome their numerical and naval inferiority to try and stop the Shogun's naval force and maintain the position they gained in the previous episode. Fast-paced, canon within the story, and quite entertaining to watch.
