A solid start to the season. Yakumo's carefree wandering attitude hiding that deadly mutsu style had me hooked instantly. Dude fighting armed samurai with bare hands and not even breaking a sweat is wild.

Honestly, the premiere episode felt a bit slow and heavy on dialogue as it built up the fundamental core of this narrative lore. Apart from that, the featured combat skills provided interesting insights that really caught my attention, keeping me completely immersed with its compelling action stakes. And the animation perfectly accentuates the traditional tone of the storyline.

An excellent first episode, it introduces characters gradually, in the style of the nineties, presents an unexpected situation with some comedy, features a mysterious character, and offers a whole plot to explore. It has a balanced pace, keeps you engaged throughout, and is canon within the story. The animation is very classic and quite entertaining to watch.
