The mood becomes much heavier. The contrast between the everyday scenes and the painful history works makes it emotional.

Hinako finally had the courage to confront Shiori about what she learned from Ayame. On the other hand, Shiori and Miko had a date together! An unexpected turn of event for the two yokai! But they talk more important things because of this. Things are getting really interesting!

Episode Context

Positioned past the two-thirds mark of a 13-episode season, Episode 9 follows directly from Episode 8's pivotal threat against Hinako, using that disruption as a catalyst to interrogate where each character truly stands. This is a classic post-revelation cooling period, the series slows down to let the consequences breathe before the final quarter escalation. It clearly functions as essential groundwork for the conflicts and resolutions that will drive episodes 10 through 13.
