Episode Context

Yami Shibai 17 is a standalone anthology series unified by the seasonal theme of 'decision,' with no continuing characters between entries. Episode 2 follows Episode 1 ('Mush Battle'), which centered on Shogo and insect wrestling at his grandfather's home, shifting the setting from rural childhood nostalgia to a strained domestic interior. It precedes Episode 3 ('Collapse'), which moves to a village-and-dam setting involving an elderly man named Hirahara, continuing the season's pattern of isolated, character-specific dread.
