EPISODE REVIEWS

The scene where old nobles squish his cheeks and lecture him about losing youthful charm made my skin crawl. Then they mock his voice change on stage like he did something wrong. Being a child performer seems absolutely joyless and this episode made that loneliness suffocating.

Inu-oh finally getting real screen time is good but it feels late. We're past the halfway mark of the season and he is only now emerging as a proper second lead? The contrast between him ascending and Oniyasha spiraling is compelling though. I just wish we got here sooner.

That old lord who keeps showing up as a ghostly comfort bothers me. He told Oniyasha he's danced enough and can stay as he is. That feels like a trap. An unhealthy escape. Chiharu had to physically drag him out of that fantasy and she was right to.
