Kaoru has a terrifying encounter in the bathroom, prompting “Hikaru” to investigate.

This episode ramps up the creepiness, paying homage to classic Japanese horror tropes while also delving into surreal sequences that give us another peek into Yoshiki’s past.

I’m hoping to see more entities and ghosts as the story progresses. What else could be lurking around?

Yoshiki kamu kenapa, nak? Kalo mau ayam, tinggal beli dan goreng.
Saya jujur tidak terlalu suka dengan jumping scene. Kayak sudah terlalu berlebihan, sih. Jadinya merusak konsentrasi.

The mystery challenges of Hikaru and Yoshiki are becoming more problematic and going too far. This episode builds on the unsettling, creepy, and dark vibes. Battling with entities is the most challenging experience in your life and you can call it a day and have a STEAK! 😋

Hikaru's situation poses a serious threat now that Yoshiki's family has been brought into the mix. There was a good balance of scenes, including normal high school life + creepy impurities taking over. Adding a flashback onto an important scene made it hit harder, too.

In this episode, I felt Yoshiki's anxiety as he tried to defend Hikaru from the bullies, which added an interesting layer to the relationship between these two characters. Something that caught my attention was how the sunsets (unlike in real life) felt unsettling.

This one leans more into the psychological side, and it’s easily one of the creepiest episodes. It’s not trying to scare you directly—it just puts you in a weird, uncomfortable headspace and lets that sit. Definitely sticks with you after.

Definitely watch episode 5, the pacing is really picking up and it's getting intense. The tone is so unsettling, it's making me eager to find out what's going on with Hikaru. Without a sound, the tension builds and it's really drawing me in.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the near-midpoint of the twelve-episode run, 'Wig Ghost' marks a clear tonal escalation after Episode 4's summer festival offered a breather and a moment of emotional grounding for Yoshiki and Hikaru. This episode reintroduces the supernatural threat with renewed intensity, deepening the mystery around the town while complicating the central relationship. It directly sets the stage for Episode 6, 'Asako,' which appears poised to pull new characters or revelations into the widening web of secrets.
