Episode 2 is mid for me. From episode 1 trying to grab your attention from action, to episode 2 filled with dialogue and conversations for the whole episode. Which makes a little sense for the build up for the fight, though this kind of pacing bores me.
The episode leans into moral gray territory, hinting that the situation isn’t as simple as “big threat bad, stop it.” There’s an attempt at deeper stakes beneath the chaos, but constant arguing and info dumps drag it down. Naofumi stepping up as a leader still feels solid.
It was visually overstimulating in some scenes for me. The talks between the characters were quite lengthy but were not too dull to pay attention to. The woman who had suddenly vanished returned and revealed her true self and intentions.
